Anja Knight wins consecutive National medals
Anja raced in the wj17 event in the Junior Sculling Regatta, Dorney Lake, on bank holiday Monday in unusually kind conditions against scullers from all over the country, including some who had recently competed in the U19 GB trials.
After a tough morning time trial, and a bit of a scrappy piece, she qualified in 2nd place for the A final, only narrowly ahead of the scullers in 3rd to 6th place.
Several hours later, she upped her game in the A final and finished in a strong 2nd place having reduced the deficit to 1st place, Holly Andrews (who finished 9th at the U19 trials), from the morning time trial, and significantly increased her advantage over Olivia Greenwell in 3rd place, who had also competed in the U19 trials.
Splitting the 2 triallists, winning the silver medal, rounded off a good 10 days of racing after also winning bronze in the Olympic Pathway Regatta at HPP.
Anja is looking forward to racing in the Women’s Champ 1x in the upcoming NSR on 23rd and 24th May.
